Meal Hamper - Home Delivery (5 Week Share)

from $495.00

*For Small Business Saturday through Giving Tuesday each recurring member who purchases a share (i.e. buys meal credits up front!) will receive a discount plus a ‘BOGO’ meal to use monthly. Send it to a friend in need of help or cheering up at 50% off (or donate it to a community fridge at 100% off). Additionally, share members can send extra hampers as part of ‘meal trains’ to support folks with new babies, healthcare needs, or bereavement. Simply send the link to the meal train or text me the details and I’ll match the cost.

FAQ FOR SHAREHOLDERS!!!
1. Why purchase hampers up-front?

Because it makes things cheaper for me (packaging, buying ingredients in bulk, covering overhead costs) and that means I can spend more of your money on the actual good stuff: the food. It also allows a very small business to plan weeks or even months in advance, which is why farmers like the CSA system. It’s truly ‘community supported’ but also just good business sense. Profit margins are so much better when I plan ahead that I can then pass along additional savings on to you folks. Win/win!

2. What are the perks?

While you sign up for a SHARE based on your anticipated needs (small or large weekly hampers), after that, it’s super flexible. Skip a week. Use your credit towards special events or party catering. Increase the size of your hamper one week, or downsize when you can and extend the life of your share. It’s all up to you.

3. What about refunds?

The premise of the ‘CSA-style’ share is that the advance purchase helps in seasonal planning and making everything more affordable for you, me, everyone. If you want to cancel your share before your credits are used up, I’ll help you spend and/or donate your remaining balance in a way that feels aligned with your budget and values. If we need to figure something out, I’m sure we can.

GENERAL INFO!

Sign up for recurring deliveries of fresh, prepped meals each week. While each week is different, you can expect salads, soups, hearty vegetable sides, lean local proteins, and mix n’ match mains and sides to help take care of lunch and dinner. I emphasize local grains, pulses and beans, satisfying textures, and vibrant flavors from a range of cooking traditions. Basic accommodations for gluten and dairy are just fine, and I do not cook with nuts. Re-heating instructions are simple and require only a toaster oven, stovetop, or microwave in a pinch.

Small hampers feed a 1-2 person household 2-3 x per week. Large hampers feed a 3-4 person household 2-3x per week, or a small household all week.

Meats are from humane Northeast farms that offer animals healthy food and space to roam. Seafood is from local waters (RI mostly, down to CT or up to southeast ME). Vegetables are (whenever possible) locally grown from my favorite farms within an hour of Providence. Other ingredients may range from far and wide, but I keep our shopping as local and independent as possible. Your weekly hamper notes will always include the farms and shops we support.

Each week, you’ll have the opportunity to edit the menu for preferred protein choices, swap out items based on personal preference, and add on pantry items like fresh greens, fruits and veggies, flowers, coffee, wine, seasonal cocktails, farm fresh eggs, and breakfast items. Naturally leavened breads are coming soon. :)
